Recently we are hearing a lot about windows 8, at present we are available only with developers preview edition, by this month we might get user preview edition. In this tutorial we shall learn how to disable and enable screen saver in windows 8. Some time we have to disable screen saver to prevent interruption to some of the important programs and some times we need screensaver to enable automatic pc locking.
Step 1:
Open metro UI and type gpedit.msc, and click on the Apps tab and on clicking this few results will appear on your screen, in this result window click on icon labeled as gpedit.msc.
Step 2:
On clicking this icon, a new window will appear on your desktop, as shown in below image.
Now using this window you have to find a file labeled as Enable Screen saver.
Step 3:
To locate this follow the link location given below.
User Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Control Panel >> Personalization
Under this personalization category you can find a file labeled as Enable Screen Saver
Step 4:
Now either double click on the file or double click on the file.
Step 6:
On performing this action, a new window will appear on your screen, as shown in below image.
In this window click on Disabled button and click on either Apply or OK button.
Step 7:
Now try changing theme, I hope you will not be available to change screensaver.
Step 8:
Now to enable back screensaver follow the entire steps, but instead of selecting Disable button in step 6, click on either Not Configured or Enable button and click on OK button.
